Follow the four steps below to obtain a marriage license using the on-line marriage license pre-application:

Step 1:		Complete and submit the on-line marriage license pre-application. Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation document via e-mail.
Step 2:		Within the next 60 days, print and bring the confirmation document, payment and valid photo identification (i.e. a driver’s license, passport or military identification card) to the Public Service Division of the Fairfax Circuit Court to obtain your marriage license. The couple must appear at the courthouse together.
Step 3:		Give the marriage license clerk your confirmation document and identification. The clerk will verify your identification, collect payment and prepare the marriage license while you wait. The cost is $30, payable by cash or credit card (MasterCard or Visa only, with a 4% transaction fee).
Step 4:		The clerk will give you your marriage license.
